  • General counsel to a solar panel installer and utility provider, handling all contract needs, including drafting and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements, equipment lease agreements, and site lease agreements for commercial solar installation projects.
  • Provide a variety of employment legal consulting, including drafting independent contractor agreements and non-disclosure agreements.

  • Provide legal consulting to a potential LEED accredited general contractor seeking to create a general contracting firm, including advising it of the type of business entity that would most benefit its mission and potential for growth and exploring protection of its name through trademark regulations
  • Provide legal consulting to a LEED accredited architecture firm, including which insurance policies would offer the most coverage, taking into consideration and balancing its bottom line with the types of work being performed, and exploring questions of copyright and trademark protections

Start-Up Companies:

  • Provide flat fee Incorporation and LLC packages for female entrepreneurs and green companies
  • Trademark attorney for numerous high tech companies, including performing trademark searches, registering trademarks, and negotiating claims of trademark infringement
  • Provide company and industry specific contracts for the general functionality of Start-up Companies, including drafting Terms of Service and Privacy Policies for websites, Confidentiality Agreements, Services Contract, and Independent Contractor Agreements

Insurance Companies:

  • Contract interpretation of insurance policies for various insurance companies to determine their likelihood of success at trial, including identifying areas of weakness and strength in the contract terms

  • Represented a large public entity in a multi-million dollar employment dispute, including being the primary client contact, drafting discovery, responding to discovery, engaging in the meet and confer process, drafting and arguing motions to compel and Pitchess motions, and drafting Motions for Summary Adjudication
  • Represented a pro bono client in the Ninth Circuit on an immigration matter, including leading mediation negotiations with the Department of Justice and the Ninth Circuit Court Mediator

Litigation in the Areas of Trademark, Labor and Employment, Insurance Defense, Products Liability, General Business Litigation:

  • Managed cases, ranging in liability from $200,000 to $10.0 million, from inception to settlement, including participating in strategic case analysis, drafting demurrers, creating case calendars, propounding discovery, responding to discovery, taking critical depositions, drafting motions for summary judgment, and participating in mediation negotiations
  • Engaged in a variety of strategic pre-trial law and motion practice, including drafting and/or arguing Motions to Compel, Motions in Limine, Motions for Judgment on the Pleadings, and Motions for Summary Judgment
  • Drafted complaints, including causes of action for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, fraud, and intentional interference with prospective advantage.
  • Represented client in a mediation for a products liability matter that led to a successful settlement of $900,000 less than plaintiff’s initial settlement offer
  • Represented a client’s trademark dispute before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, including drafting a Motion for Summary Judgment and negotiating a settlement agreement
